FELLOWSHIP

There are two important ways of being in fellowship at Master Builder Christian Church!  You must first be in fellowship with God and be in fellowship with God’s family.

1. How Can I Be Connected to God?

God loves every single one of His children and wants to be in close, loving relationship with each of us.  He is the perfect Father (Mat. 5:48).  God never forces His love on His children and will let us remain independent if we say no to a relationship with Him.  But on our own, independent from God, we can’t reach God (Rom. 3:10-12).  God is perfectly just and holy and does not accept rebellion and sin (Rom. 2:5-6).  Many people try to use religion or good deeds to be “good enough” to please God (Rom. 3:20).  But we cannot meet God’s standards through our own effort because we all have sinned and fallen far short (Rom. 3:23).

God lives us so much that He provided His son Jesus to remove the barrier caused by our independence from God (John 3:16).  Jesus’ mission on earth was to give His life as our substitute by taking on Himself the consequences of our sin.  In doing so, He brought us back into relationship with God the Father (1 Peter 3:18).  Jesus gave this precious gift of forgiveness and reconciliation with God freely to all (Eph. 2:8-9).  As a matter of fact, everyone is invited to accept this gift of God’s love – including you! (Matthew 22:9-10).  This is because God loves you just like He loves His own son Jesus (John 17:23).

To accept this gift, you need to end your independence from God and genuinely submit your life to Him.  You can do this right now by accepting Jesus as your Savior and Lord by faith (John 1:12, 3:16) in prayer.  This is not an end in itself, but rather the beginning of a new life aligned with God’s great love for you!  A wise next step would be to make sure you get connected with some people that are on this path following Jesus so you have some support and encouragement in your new journey.  Above all, make sure you get connected into a healthy, biblical church.

2. How do I Get Connected to God’s Family?

There are many ways to get connected to God’s family – but regardless of the path you choose, it is God’s clear desire for you to be connected to other believers (1 Cor. 12:12-31; Eph. 2:19-22; Heb. 10:24-25).  Every believer is called to be a member of God’s family – His local church.  We have designed a series of classes that can be done independently or in a group titled “Discovering Church Membership.”  There you will receive a basic understanding of what we believe and how we function.  This information will help you be informed on how to become a member at Master Builder Christian Church.

Another important step in connecting is Baptism.  Baptism is a declaration of your new life in Christ, and is a symbol of burial and resurrection in your new life – and a rebirth into God’s family.  It is also a powerful landmark in your life that says you are being immersed into your new family – the family of God.

Other ways that we fellowship together is through weekly worship, fellowship Sundays, other events like picnics or social gatherings.  We also gather through several small groups which give us a great opportunity to connect to others.

What are you waiting for?  Come and join us.  Let’s have fellowship together!
